what is the difference between this and just taking a screen cap from the website?
you end up with the same thing - an image file that you can't kern.
why are they links and why are they not linked and pixelated? I looked at the path to the link and could not find where the png file was placed.

FontGazer will provide this preview without leaving InDesign. Stay tuned for added features. High res previews and kerning are great suggestions.
